DEF LEPPARD Bassist Adds His Support To Charity Duck Race
April 19, 2005According to Sheffield Today, DEF LEPPARD bassist Rick Savage found time before jetting off for the band's U.S. tour to meet Sheffield Children's Hospital charity mascots Quackers the Duck and Theo Bear.
Rick, a long-time friend of the hospital, added his support to the charity's Duck Race to be staged at Rother Valley Park on May 15.
He even snapped up 20 ducks and promised to put a link on his band's web site directing fans to www.duckcentraluk.com so they can adopt a flock of their own.
Rick said: "The great Yorkshire Duck Race is such a unique and exciting idea.
"I am so glad the people of Sheffield can be a part of it whilst raising money for such a worthwhile cause."
To buy a duck, priced £3, go to www.duckcentraluk.com, visit the charity shop in the hospital, or drop in to an Asda store in Sheffield.
